My name is Anneka and I am first and foremost a passionate and committed vegan. I went vegetarian at the age of 11, then turned vegan at the age of 17 after connecting the dots. I am 30 now and it has been wonderful seeing veganism absolutely splatter into the mainstream in all sorts of beautiful, exciting ways.
The services I would like to offer you, revolve around writing. I am at heart a creative, so my niche is making words excite readers more than a vegan stumbling across an exclusively vegan donut shop (what, you mean we can eat....everything?).
I can write you a blog, tweak your web copy, provide you with some irresistible product descriptions, or even just get you a solid article about a vegan topic written. I am an abolitionist personally, but have written vegan articles coming from all vegan perspectives - health, welfare, environmentalism - I won't discriminate!
So if you want boring, standard copy that puts your readers to sleep, please don't come to me - I can't hold my personality back! But if you would like some delicious, sumptuous, colourful writing which comes from a place of passion and experience, please get in touch, I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Shine on you Crazy Diamond
Remember when you were young; you shone like the sun. Now there's a look in your eye like black holes in the sky. Welcome to the scary world of cancer.
The clinical nurse handed me the DS 1500 form so my benefit claim could be doled out immediately. My bulging eyeballs focused on the words terminal illness before glancing back at the nurse. I softly whispered, "This means I'm gonna die."
She held my quivering hand and with compassion responded, " I am so sorry but your tumour is very large and very advanced." I gazed in uncomfortably numb shock at the cream walls as the silence drowned the screams.
Just a few months back I was sporting a deep golden tan, employed in the tropics as a Film Maker on a hydropower project and right here right now I am as white as a ghost, on benefits with one foot in the grave.
I was diagnosed with inoperable Stage 4 neck cancer. Three courses of chemotherapy was proposed in an attempt to shrink the tumour. The chemo trip started with a day in hospital being fed the drugs to poison the tumour before being sent home with a glass pump attached to my stomach to administer the toxins for the next 5 days. Unfortunately each of the first two sessions made me extremely sick and I ended up in A&E. I was told my death warmed up body couldn't take a third course of chemo as it may kill me.
I was informed that with no further treatment my prognosis was 12 months to live. Therefore I went for the harrowing chemo radiotherapy trip which only had a 1 in 5 shout of extending my existence on this big blue marble floating in dark space.
After 2 weeks of brain damaging deliberation the madcap finally laughed and opted for 6 weeks of radiotherapy at Preston Royal Inferno (lol) with a weekly dose of chemo. This was no walk in the park believe me but if a cowardly cowardly custard like me can do it anybody can.
The treatment ended on the 31 August 2012 and I was like a bag of bones feeding myself through a peg tube in my stomach. If that wasn't bad enough my mum died shortly afterwards to join my dad in the next dimension. Then my wife abandoned me and the kids who were aged 15 and 4 at the time. We have not seen her since! So, not only did my broken body have to fight against all the odds to survive but I had to take care of my children, cook meals, clean the house, school runs and give them love and support. And I did it all alone.
I knew I had to fight; my children needed me and had no one else. I changed my diet by becoming vegan, drinking litres of fruit, herbs and vegetable juices and cut out all processed food. I forced my sick body to walk and exercise every day. I was at death's door but I refused to hold the grim reapers bony hand and enter.

Overall, my goal is to promote veganism by the following means:
I provide information and answers on all things vegan.
I aim to be a clear, thoughtful, and unequivocally vegan voice;
to bring clarity to the often confused and confusing topic of veganism;
to encourage both vegans and non-vegans to fully understand the importance and implications of the ethical stance that is veganism.
With recipes, product reviews, lifestyle tips, and more, I show that living vegan is easy, sustainable, rewarding, and accessible.
With an ever increasing world population, sustainable food production means more than simply expanding the current food supply, change is needed. Vegan Life aims to encompass social, economic, ecological and political considerations to assist in bringing about a change in attitudes by encouraging the adoption of a plant based diet by bringing Vegan into Vogue.
Vegan Views shares the aims of the UK Vegan Society, but is independent from it. The magazine has always been produced by unpaid volunteers on a non-profit-making basis, with the emphasis being on debating issues amongst vegans and vegan sympathisers.
Vegan Views began in April 1975 as a duplicated A4 newsletter, with the early issues simply called 'Vegan Newsletter'. It was produced by a group of young vegans living in North London, led by Marijke McCartney, who wanted to make contact with others "interested in creating a more harmonious way of living based on veganism". They shared news and opinions, and were able to communicate more informally through the Newsletter than through the Vegan Society's journal. For many isolated vegans they were a real source of support.
